Volunteer policy
Dawns New Horizon is an information and support group for men and woman who suffer from Domestic Violence. The group is run by survivors as well as people who have not suffered abuse. Dawns New Horizon have formed a committee for decisions on the management group. For this document committee members will be referred to and are only volunteers. The group have no paid staff and is run entirely by the volunteers. Group members that show interest in the management and wish to be in the committee will be invited to a committee meeting and may be voted on by the members. All new volunteers will be issued with the Dawns New Horizon policy folder and will be expected to familiarise themselves with all the Dawns New Horizon policies and documents. Dawns New Horizon have the following documents: Mission statement - groups intentions Main policy - details of membership and confidentiality statement Disciplinary and grievance policy Equal opportunities and diversity statement Complaints procedure Training Information on training is available within the group and volunteers are encouraged to attend training of their choice which must be relevant to aims of the group. Supervision and Support This is available at the committee meetings where time is given to discuss any problems within the group. The volunteer may also speak to the manager at any time.
